Obituary for Delores M. Thrasher

Delores Marie Thrasher, 88, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born December 8, 1929, in Hudson, daughter of Ira and Julia Spore Hinkle. She married Lester Thrasher on July 2, 1948, in Macon, Mo. He died July 2, 2000.

Delores attended Waterloo West High School. She was employed with Black’s and JC Penney and was a member of 1st Open Bible Church.

Survivors include three sons: Michael (Stephany Harvey) of Independence, Steven (Linda) of Osage Beach, Mo., and Patrick (Ruth Ann) of Ankeny; two daughters, Kathy (Jim) Ohrt of Laguna Hills, Calif. and Janet (Ed) Jensen of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole; five sisters: Delilah, Goldie, Pearl, Esther and Hazel; and a brother, Vale.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and will continue for one hour before service on Friday.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
