Robert “Bob” Louis Rosenkrans was born on June 27, 1936, in Chicago, the son of Fred and Lilly (Teeter) Rosenkrans. Bob graduated from Waterloo East High in 1955.

In 1956, he married Charlene Sturch. Three children were born to this union, Roberta, Denise, and Kathy. The couple later divorced. Bob married Lu White (Youngblood) in 1986. He adopted Lu’s daughter, Lynette, during their marriage. They later divorced. Bob worked for Rosenkrans Electronics, Rosenkrans Block Company, and then owned and operated Bob’s 2-Way Radio Service in Evansdale for over 40 years. His company maintained Black Hawk County and surrounding counties’ emergency radio systems.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and NASCAR. Bob died from cancer at the age of 81 on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at NorthCrest Specialty Care in Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jim Cahoe; and a brother in infancy. Bob is survived by four daughters, Roberta Cahoe, Denise (Melvin) Vondracek, Kathy (Jeff) Matthias, and Lynette White all of Waterloo; a sister, Ruth Ann (Don) Leith of Garnavillo; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one niece; and two nephews.
