Anthony C. "Tony" Frost

March 23, 1947 - March 14, 2018

GILBERTVILLE, IOWA – Anthony C. “Tony” Frost, 70, died Wednesday, March 14 at UnityPoint Hospital, Marshalltown, Iowa.

He was born March 23, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Leander J. and Magdalen Schares Frost. He married LaDonna Davis on July 25, 1970 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.

Anthony was a U.S. Army veteran. He then worked as an assembler for John Deere Tractor Mfg. Co., retiring February 28, 1996.

He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Ron (Mary) of Gilbertville, Lee (Laura) of Jesup and Randy (Diana) of Unionville, Mo; a sister, Helene (Luis) Reyes of Littleton.

He was preceded in death by a son, Todd Frost; three brothers, Merrill, Irv and Joe Frost; two sisters, Mary Weber and Marlene Cunningham.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 20 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Full military honors will be conducted by the Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post 714 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the Gilbertville Fire department and the Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post.
