Stephen Hunemuller

Stephen Paul Hunemuller was born on August 10, 1949, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Arlin and Dolores (Stahlhut) Hunemuller. He graduated from Waterloo East High in 1967. Stephen served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from service, Stephen attended Gates College and Hawkeye Community College.

In August of 1969, he married Sandra Tordsen. The couple had two sons and later divorced.

Stephen was a police officer, sold real estate, and was a property insurance adjustor for American Family Insurance until his retirement in 1999. He then was an independent insurance adjustor until 2007. Stephen was a very active member of the Cedar Falls Amvets Post 49 and a member of the VFW. He loved fishing, boating, hunting, and being with his family and friends.

Stephen died at the age of 68 on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

He was preceded in death by this father and two brothers, Daniel and Brian.

Stephen is survived by this mother, Dolores of Waterloo; two sons, Troy (Andrea) Hunemuller of Cedar Falls and Ryan Hunemuller of Cedar Falls; a sister, Becky (Werner) Meyer; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren.
