Obituary for Frances Louise Miller Wright

Frances Louise Miller Wright, 87, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 14, at Covenant Medical Center of Pneumonia/COPD.

She was born December 5, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Karl and Jessie Page White. She married Roger L. Miller on August 12, 1950, in Waterloo and he preceded her death on June 12, 1977. She married James L. Wright on July 20, 1991, in Waterloo and he preceded her in death on August 20, 2008.

Frances was a librarian at St. John’s School until her retirement.

Survivors include four sons: Joe Miller, Mark Miller, Tony Miller all of Waterloo, Greg (Lynette) Miller of Grundy Center; two daughters, Michelle (Jeff) Mason of Shell Rock and Melissa (Kurt) Schmitz of Waterloo; two step sons, Kenneth (Raylene) Wright of Colleta, IL, and John (Nancy) Wright of Dike; a step daughter, Vicki King of Ariz; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; and thirteen step great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Allen Benson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her daughter, Teresa Benson, a brother, Harold White; two sisters, Dorothy Singer and Gladys Merrick.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 19, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with entombment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum. Public visitation from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 3 p.m. Legion of Mary Rosary and 5:30 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Queen of Peace Church, Sacred Heart Church, Friendship Village Auxillary Fund, or Friendship Village Catholic Fund.

Frances was an outgoing person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
