Obituary for Edward W. Peres

Edward W. Peres 98, of Waterloo died Friday, January 19, at Western Home Community-Martin Center.

Edward was born April 21, 1919, in Port of Spain, Trinidad the son of William and Iris Gonzales Peres. He married Emily Gomes on October 26 1946, in Port of Spain, Trinidad. She died in 2010.

Edward was employed by the Trinidad Telephone Company for five years and Pan Am Airlines for 26 years. Upon moving to Waterloo in 1968, he worked for Kroblin Transportation, both in Waterloo and Tulsa, OK. He retired in 1988. He was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church.

Survived by: two daughters, Sandra (James) Borseth and Patricia (Jeff) Griffin both of Waterloo; a sister, Veda Ernster of Waterloo; and a brother, Mike (Lucita) of Toronto, Canada

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Jean Cassenti and Jessie Vieira, and his brother Robert Peres.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be Tuesday January 23, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church.
