Eleanor M. Schadle, 98, of Waterloo died Tuesday, January 2, at ManorCare Health Services in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 23, 1919 in Dubuque, daughter of Charles and Margaret Tenhaaf. She married Kenneth L. Schadle on September 15, 1947, in Dubuque. He died February 2, 1988.

She is survived by three sons: Thomas (Margaret) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Bruce (Donna) of Hudson, and Richard of Davie, Fla.; a daughter, Mary Beth (Michael) Brogan of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren: Stephanie, Erich, Keevan, Brett, Graig, Tyler, Dani Jo, Derek, Amanda and Maggie; and 14 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. “Chuck” Schadle; and a sister, Elizabeth Kohnen.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. Public visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 5 and one hour before services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Eleanor’s name to a memorial fund of your choosing.
