Obituary for Wendel C. Slifka

Wendel C. Slifka, age 57 of Cresco, Iowa, died Monday, December 25, 2017 at his home in Cresco. Services will be at a later date.

Wendel was born June 17, 1960 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Martin and Joann (Saathoff) Slifka. He is a graduate of the Cedar Falls High School. Most of his life he lived in New Hartford, Iowa, La Crosse, Wisconsin, or the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa, area.

Wendel was a train enthusiast, and could identify any train engine he saw. He had the opportunity to work as a train engineer when he lived in La Crosse.

He is survived by his father: Martin Slifka and friend Nedra Peterson of Cresco; his mother: Joann Slifka of Waterloo, IA; a sister: Wanda (Gary) Lenius of Mesa, AZ and numerous cousins and other relatives.
