Bette DeBerg, 92, of Waterloo died at ManorCare Health Services Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

She was born May 31, 1925 in Buckeye, Iowa daughter of Emmett and Theresa Rima Glass.

Bette married Donald DeBerg on April 3, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on June 20, 2007.

She graduated in 1943 from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Waterloo and played on the St. Mary's Green Peppers Basketball Team. Bette was a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell for many years. She later was the bookkeeper for the family’s business, DeBerg Oil Company. Bette was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She is survived by her two sons: Dennis (Renee) DeBerg of St. Cloud, Florida, and Barry DeBerg of Waterloo; three grandchildren: Abbie DeBerg of Panama City Beach, Florida, Jacob DeBerg of Moscow, Russia, and Jamie DeBerg of Clarksville, IA; a brother, Eldon “Sonny” Glass of Waterloo, IA; and a sister, Nancy Wolfe of Crystal Lake, IL.

Bette is preceded by: her parents; husband, Don; a brother, Gerald Glass; a sister-in-law, Mary Glass; a brother-in-law, Dick Wolfe; a niece, Julie Wiederin, and a nephew, Steven Wolfe.
