Leon Coleman was born on December 4, 1932 to his beloved parents, Jack and Jubilee (Scott) Coleman in Stoneville, Mississippi. There he was raised until he moved to Waterloo, Iowa in 1955. On November 5, 1960, Leon married the love of his life, Annie, and the two spent over 57 years loving each other and creating a wonderful life together.

Leon Coleman spent most of his career as an employee at Rath Packing Company until they closed in 1984. From there he was a custodian in the Waterloo school districts. What Leon cherished most was the time he spent with his family and friends. He also loved to travel with Annie, visiting places all around the United States including Las Vegas, Atlanta, Georgia and numerous other locations. Leon Coleman will be remembered for his impeccable style and the classic cars that he owned and detailed.

Leon Coleman was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Martha Mae Pitts and Lucille Harmon; and his son, Terry Joe Beltran.

Leon is survived by his wife, Annie; his three sons, Rick Coleman of Waterloo, Troy (Lisa) Coleman of Waterloo and Andrae Coleman of Waterloo; his four daughters, Liz (Michael) Cook of Waterloo, Kiley Ann “Angel”Coleman of Jacksonville, Florida, Tanja Mcclellen of Phoenix of Arizona, and Gloria Jean Bradford of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Gloria Jean Barnes; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Leon Coleman was a man of style and will be missed by all of those who had the privilege of making his acquaintance.
