Richard H. “Dick” Andreasen, 80, of Waterloo, died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.
He was born November 14, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Raymond “Ray” and Evelyn (Powell) Andreasen. He married Patricia “Pat” Hines June 15, 1959 in Waterloo.
Mr. Andreasen was employed as a machinist at John Deere & Co. for 32 years, retiring April 28, 1995. He was a member of Union Local 838. Dick was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Dick was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He was an amazing, loving husband, dad, grandpa, and brother.
Dick is survived by his wife of Waterloo; three sons, Richard “Rick” Andreasen of Waterloo, Paul {Alycia) Andreasen of Cedar Rapids, and Michael “Mike” (Bree) Andreasen of Greenwood, Indiana; one daughter, Teresa (Mike) Mehmen of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Shantelle, Levi, and Brandon Andreasen, Shane and Cody Mehmen, Mikail, Mikenzie, Riley, James, Michael, Jr., and Kadin Andreasen; two great grandchildren, Stephanie Randall and Layna Mehmen; and one brother, Charles (Peggy) Andreasen of Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jackie Dillon and Donna Ray Andreasen; and a grandson, Izaya Andreasen.
