Biography--

Murvin W. Wickham, 82, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at home of natural causes.

Murvin was born August 22, 1935 in Brainerd, Minnesota, son of Clarence and Elvera (Swortout) Wickham. He married Lavonne Henricks in Brainerd in 1967; they were later divorced.

Murvin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner/operator of his semi-truck and he was a hydraulic engineer at Caterpillar for several years and also owned at Murv’s General Repair Shop.

Murvin was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Brainerd. He enjoyed repairing things, including old tractors, traveling, fishing, and he loved Polka music and dancing and watching them on television.

He is survived by his significant other, Beulah Hamby of Evansdale; five children: Gary Wickham of Twin Cities, MN, Brenda Shaw of Little Falls, MN, Wesley Wickham of Brainerd, Shawn Wickham of St. Cloud, MN, and Heidi Wickham of Becker, MN; several grandchildren; and by four sisters: Donna Luehring and Gertrude Kuschel, both of Brainerd, Delores Schultz of Baxter, MN, and Yvonne Ellstrom of Brainerd.

Murvin was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers in childhood; a son, Loren Wickham; and a daughter, Lana Wickham.
