Biography--

David P. Wilson, 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at ManorCare Health Services following a brief illness.

He was born November 13, 1933 in Eldora, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Vera (Dawson) Wilson.

He was a graduate of Eldora High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Music from Iowa State Teachers College.

He married Mary Robinson on April 10, 1955, in Eldora; she preceded him in death in 1989.

David worked as a Housing Inspector for the City of Waterloo, retiring after 30 years. He was an avid musician all his life and played the saxophone in several bands over the years.

He is survived by five children: Merry Cunningham of Des Moines, Peter (Lisa) Mueller of Ankeny, Otto Mueller of Waterloo, Stacey (Tami) Wilson of Elk Run Heights, Jim (Jody) Wilson of Evansdale; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Anne (John) Brownstone of Bonita Springs, Florida and a special friend, Cathy Bullen of Evansdale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Mueller and one granddaughter.
