Dale Eugene Brouwer

Dale Eugene Brouwer was born on September 16, 1953, in Waterloo, the son of Harold and Frances (Lasshan) Brouwer. He graduated high school in 1971 and continued his work as a printer at Matt, Parrot and Sons.

He then went on to work as the print manager at Hawkeye Tech, after which he moved around the United States, taking on various jobs in Colorado and Nebraska, before returning to Waterloo in 2002. Dale was an avid collector of flamingos and mice figurines. He also enjoyed producing many crafts, woodworking, painting, plastic canvas, cooking, baking, and delivering these special treats to his family and neighbors.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Douglas (Butch) Brouwer. He is survived by his sister Sharon (Rick) Garthoff of Evansdale, four nephews and nieces: Douglas Brouwer of Waterloo, Paul Brouwer of Wisconsin, Heather (John) Schaefer of La Porte City, Phillip (Sommer) Garthoff of Evansdale; four great-nieces and nephews: Taylor Johnson of Waterloo, Hunter and Caelyn of La Porte City, and Andy Bush of Waterloo.

The family would also like to would like to invite everyone to the Evansdale AMVETS post (706 Colleen Ave Evansdale) from 4:30-7:00 for a light dinner.
