Biography--

Glen Robert Beals, 83, of Ravenwood Care Initiatives, Waterloo died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital on Friday, November 3, 2017.

He was born March 6, 1934 in Earlham, Iowa, son of Isaac and Edith Van Cleave Beals. Glen graduated from Osceola High School in 1954 and attended Hawkeye Community College in 1968 for machinist.

Glen was a vault maker at Garden of Memories Cemetery 1970‑1978, the groundskeeper for KWWL‑TV 1981-1988, and the maintenance person at Walnut Court Apts. from 1988 until his retirement in 1995.

He had been a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church since moving to Waterloo in 1968. Glen enjoyed watching hockey and following his favorite teams.

Glen is survived by a brother, Everett and his wife Ruth of Chariton, Iowa, and two sisters: Laura Ripperger of Milo, Iowa, and Doris Marie Frazier and her husband Robert of Indianola, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his parents
