Obituary for Lorraine Mae Doubek

Lorraine Doubek, 86, of Waterloo, died Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, in Waterloo, Iowa, after complications from a car accident.

She was born November 29, 1930 in Fort Atkinson, Iowa, daughter of William and Mayme Tupy Bader. She married Eugene J. Doubek in 1950, in Protivin, Iowa. They Later Divorced.

Lorraine was a homemaker until her children left the home. She then started working for John Deere as a material handler, where she stayed for 17 years, until her retirement.

Survived by: Four daughters, Linda Goldsberry of Waterloo, Karen (John) Seastrom Evans of Shirley Ark., Debbie Doubek of Waterloo and Beverly (Dan) Deviney of Cedar Falls; two sons, Kenny (Colleen) Doubek of Urbana, Darwin Doubek of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Danny and Dustin (Angie) Goldsberry, Jeremiah and Joshua Schellhorn, Kimberly and Joseph Seastrom, Melana Taylor, Bradley Doubek, Marie, Danielle and Angela Deviney; and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Remetch of Waterloo, Geri Swyers, of Cedar Falls and Rita Revoir of Calif.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Lois Doubek Schellhorn; a sister Mildred Shubel; and a brother William Bader.

Services will be Friday, November 10 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Lorraine enjoyed playing cards with her children and grandchildren and bowling with her friends.
