Obituary for Lyle G. Steele

Lyle G. Steele, 81, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Thursday, November 2, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born November 28, 1935 in Decorah, son of Lester and Grace Ramsy Steele. He married Helen M. Zeien on September 9, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Lyle farmed with his father in the Decorah area and later was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 32 years, retiring in 1992.

Survivors include four sons: Larry (Kelly) Steele of Wichita, Kansas, Danny Steele of Evansdale, Joey Steele of Canyon County, California and Mike Steele of Waterloo; a daughter, Susan Steele of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Ross, Justin and Audrey Steele (Peter) and Jennifer Becker (Benjamin Hansen) and Colton Becker; three great-grandchildren, Mia and John, Jr. Damme and Dexter Hansen; and a brother, Ed (Rita) Steele of Winona, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Steele; and a sister, Donna Nagel.
