Obituary for Grace H. Massina

Grace H. Massina, 91, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 17, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.

She was born September 21, 1926 in Waterloo, daughter of Herman and Amanda Plaster Frahm. She married Frank S. Massina on July 24, 1948 in Waterloo. He died December 20, 2001.

Grace graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1944. She was employed with Rath Packing Company for many years, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include: a son, Michael (Deb) Massina of Waterloo; a daughter, Cathy (Terry) Gabbard of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Tim, Katie, Chris (Courtney) and Nick Massina, Ross Plummer and Gabrielle (Ryan) Durnil; and four great grandchildren, Oliver and Theo Massina, Briar Wiebers and Finley Durnil.

Grace is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Massina; a brother, Alfred Frahm; and two sisters, Dorothy Peterson and Darlene Vogt.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity American Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Saturday.
