A. M. Jones, of Shellsburg, met with a painful accident last week. He tied a piece of wire on the end of his whip to aid him in awakening the mules, which he was driving, to a sense of their duty, and in manipulating the whip for that purpose it struck him in the right eye, bursting and knocking the eye-ball out of its socket.
