Nora Schwenneker Dead
While in Enjoyment of Health, Visited
Guthrie Center, Sunday, Fred
Wahlert Jr. Several Days, Died
Saturday at Home.

Miss Nora Schwenneker was born
on the Fred Wahlert Sr. farm in
Greeley township, May 2, 1891. A
few years later they moved to
Adair where they resided three
years, when the family moved to
the Henry Tibben farm in Audubon
township. After residing there five
years they again moved to a farm
three and one-half miles southeast
of Adair, where they have since
resided. In 1901 and 1902, she
attended the Exira Public Schools
and after moving to near Adair she
attended the Public Schools in
that city. Her father, Mr. Arthur
Schwenneker preceded her in death
March 27, 1910, leaving her mother,
four sisters, Mrs. Clara Schonefer
of near Guthrie Center, Mrs. Sarah
Schirm of Audubon township,
Ebbie and Helena at home; and
two brothers, Peter and Charlie
at home, to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held
in the Presbyterian Church at
Adair, Sunday, September 8th, at
2:00 o'clock p. m.

Interment was made in the Schwenneker
Cemetery in Audubon
township.

She. was well known in Exira
and highly respected. The Journal
extends sympathy to the bereaved
family.

Miss Nora Schwenneker, of near
Adair, died at her home Saturday,
September 7th. The young lady
was sick but a short time. She had
attended the State Fair a few days
ago and while on the round, became
slightly ill. On reaching home
physician was summoned. A few
days later, or Sunday following, she
accompanied her mother and aunt,
Mrs. Lou Schwenneker, of Saskatchewan,
Canada, to Guthrie Center to
visit her sister, Mrs. Clara Schonefer,
and from there she went to the
Fred Wahlert Jr. home in Audubon
township, where she remained until
Thursday, when she became seriously
ill and was taken to her home.
She became gradually worse and died
Saturday evening about 11:30 oclock
Abscess, which broke internally
was the cause of her death.

Note: Parents of Lenora May "Nora" Schwenneker were Arthur P. Schwenneker and Caroline E. "Carrie" Wahlert.
