Former Exira Man Died
At Joplin, Missouri

The death of W. W. Marietta
occurred Friday at Joplin, Missouri,
following an attack of
heart trouble. Funeral services
were held at the First Baptist
church there and burial was in the
Fairview cemetery.

Mr. Marietta was 72 years old.
He was born in Allamakee county,
Iowa, and came to Exira when a
child. His parents were the late
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Marietta,
pioneer residents of this com-
munity. There were ten children in
the family of whom William was
the youngest and only survivor.

He moved to Joplin from Omaha
in 1931 after having been a prominent
builder and contractor there
for thirty years.

Surviving are his wife of Joplin,
two daughters, Mrs. Vesta Newton
and Marie Marietta, a church
missionary, and a step-daughter,
Mrs. Leta Stulz, all of Omaha.

Note: Parents of William Washington "Will" Marietta were Joseph Archer Marietta and Hannah Snyder. William was married 1st to Hannah Lorena Hollis, 2nd to Hannah Annetta "Nettie" Bruner, and 3rd to Minnie M. Lewis.
