OBITUARY
John Stephen Fenton, son of Martha and Carr Fenton, Born November 29, 1863 near Plano and passed away at his home December 31, 1948, at the age of 85 years, one month and two days.

In 1891 he was united in marriage to Lou Emma Bird Staley. To this union five children were born Earl Fenton and Ola Sulser, of Melrose, and Roy, Martha and John, who preceded him in death.

Five grandchildren survive: Helen Taylor, Duane and John Sulser, and Dwight and Jerald Fenton. Two great-grandchildren survive: Betty Lou Taylor and Jerald Stephen Fenton.

He was united with the Chariton River Baptist church on June 3, 1907.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters: Amy Owen, Nellie Herr, Mary Ann Moorman and Sarah and Mandy Fenton, and two brothers: William Fenton and another who died in infancy.

Cora Frost of Mystic, three brothers: Joe, of Plano, Elvin, of Centerville, and Henry of Elston and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Cahriton River Baptist Church (Brushy) Sunday, January 2, at 1:30 p.m. They were conducted byRev. A. E. Beals. Interment was in Brushy Cemetery.
