Orval Kinney

CENTERVILLE--Orval Kinney, 87, of North Liberty, Ind., and formerly of Jerome and Centerville died May 16, 1998, at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Walkerton, Ind.

He was born in Jerome on July 18, 1910, to George and Edna Herrin Kinney. He married Ruth I. McCarty in Milan, Mo., on March 1, 1932. She preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1989. He retired in 1973 from Schindler Elevator Company in San Diego, Calif., and moved to the Indiana area.

He is survived by a daughter, Delores A. Kanzig of South Bend, Ind.; a son, Richard L. Kinney of Rockford, Mich.; a brother, Edwin E. Kinney of Chicago, Ill; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jerome Cemetery in Jerome.

Visitation will be held from 10 until noon Wednesday prior to the service at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville.

A memorial has been established to St. Joseph County Humane Society and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 416 E. Maple, Centerville, IA 52544.
