DIED - In this city, on Friday, September 1st, 1865, Benjamin F. Phillips. Aged 45 years.

Mr. Phillips was born in the town of Wheelock, Caledonia county, Vt., Feb. 13th, 1820. He has been a resident of this place for several years, and was one of our most worthy, energetic and straigh-forward business men.

He leaves a wife and family to mourn his death.

Note: The obit of Phebe A. Phillips, his wife, states that she died at Lawler, IA in 1873, and "Her remains were brought to this city and deposited in the tomb beside those of her husband in the old cemetery". Both have a gravestone in the Old Oak Hill cemetery, although they are in very bad condition.
