Waukon, Iowa - James B. Ryan, 76, lifelong resident of Allamakee County, died Wednesday in an Iowa City hospital following a long illness.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Ryan, were early settlers in Union Prairie Township, where he was born Feb. 2, 1882. His later years he lived in New Albin.
He never married and is survived by four brothers, Joseph of New Albin, Roy of La Crosse, John of Dubuque and Leonard of Chillicothe, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Waukon, the Rev. John McDonald officiating, and burial will be in the West Ridge Church Cemetery.
