Funeral services were held on Monday, February 11, 2013, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon, Iowa for Kenneth M. Ewing, age 87, of Waukon who died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Rev. Richard Iles officiated followed by military rites services at the Oakland Cemetery, in Waukon.

Kenneth Milton Ewing was born on November 9, 1925 in the Forest Mills area, rural Allamakee County, Iowa to Charles "Haley" and Ruth (Bray) Ewing, Sr. He was born a twin to Keith "Red" Ewing. The twins were baptized and confirmed at the Forest Mills United Methodist Church where Kenneth remained as a life-long member. He attended the rural Forest Mills area schools and later earned his GED in 1981. After working for a time for area farmers, he enlisted as a young man in the United States Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant, seeing duty during World War II and the Korean War in Okinawa, Japan, and Korea.

Following his discharge in 1952 Kenneth returned home and on January 18, 1953 married Margaret "Marge" Stegen in Dubuque, Iowa. They moved to Charles City, Iowa where Kenny worked for White Tractor. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was a machinist for Ladish Manufacturing. They moved back to Waukon where Kenny worked at the Waukon Creamery and for twenty-five years at the Hygrade Meat Packing Plant in Postville, Iowa. His last positions were in the maintenance department at the Waukon Junior High School, the Allamakee County Courthouse, and the Robey Memorial Library.

Kenneth was an avid fisherman and included his family in many of his adventures. He was an excellent cook and an accomplished handyman, being able to fix anything around the house or garage. He loved to pitch in and help anyone whenever he was able. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who thought the world of his family.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Marge of Waukon; his three children: Vicki (Joe) Price of Decorah, Iowa, Connie (Craig) Rocksvold of Waukon, and Amy (Craig) Wiemerslage of New Albin, Iowa; six grandchildren and their families: Keni (Andrea) Ewing with their children Cooper and Carsyn; Emily (Andy) Orvella with their children Evan and Axle; Lucas (Annie) Rocksvold with Ryan and Abigail; Allie Klein, Amanda Fahey, and Skyler Fahey; a sister Helen "Tiny" May of Waterville, Iowa; and his twin brother Keith "Red" (Joan) Ewing of Albany, Oregon.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers Willis, Arthur, Charles, Jr., and Harry Ewing; and a sister Ruth Bloxham. Honorary casketbearers were Lester Stahl, Jerry Ewing, Donald Ewing, Mike Stegen, Dean Volkes, Barry Sharp, Kenny Nierling, Roger Vickery, and Chuck Bloxham. Casketbearers were John May, Mark Ewing, John May, Jr., Craig Rocksvold, Joe Price, and Lucas Rocksvold.
