Harpers Ferry, Ia. - Services for Mrs. Charles Traversy, 57, who died Monday at her home here after a lingering illness, were held Thursday from St. Ann's church. The Rev. J.J. Costelloe officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Josephine Martelle was born Sept. 21, 1890, near Harpers Ferry, the daughter of Leo and Mary Martelle. She was married to Charles Traversy on Oct. 14, 1911.

Surviving are the widower; three sons, Linus and Melvin, of Shreveport, La, and Thomas, of Creston; four daughter, Mrs. F. (Rosella) Schultz, of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Giles (Estelle) Quillin and Miss Terese Traversy, of Brownsville, Minn, and Mrs. Robert (Regina) Defendi, of Dubuque; four grandchildren; two brothers, Leo, of Dubuque and Napoleon, of Harpers Ferry, and three sisters, Mrs. Claire (Loise) Shore, of Kenosha, Wis.; Mrs. L. (Belle) Lucas and Mrs. Ed (Ursula) Vopelak, of Prairie du Chien. She was preceded by four brothers, one sister and her parents.
