Obituary for Ruth V. Clauson
Ruth V. Clauson, age 78, of Carpentersville passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Ruth was born in Lansing, Iowa on November 2, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Harold & Viette Engelhorn. Ruth was a resident of the Dundee-Carpentersville area for the past 53 years and a Charter and longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Elgin. For many years, Ruth served as organist at Messiah. She also was accompanist for the Elgin Follies for many years. Ruth enjoyed playing golf and over the years was involved in several ladies golf leagues. Survivors include her husband of 58 years: Richard C. ”Dick“ Clauson and their daughter; Dawn (Rick) Andersen. Other survivors include her grandchildren; Billy (Erica) Allen, Jennifer Greer and Jackie (Jacob) Jones. Her great grandchildren; Drake, Braxton, Brooklyn, Bentley, Riley and Grayson. Her brother; Gary (the late Meg) Engelhorn, her sisters; Carol (the late Kenny) McDonald and Elinor (the late Leo) Meyer; her four nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents and her son, Mark A. Clauson on April 11, 1995, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother; John (the late Nancy). Family and friends will meet for Funeral Services on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. At The First Congregational Church 900 S. Eighth Street (Route 31) in West Dundee with Rev. Paige Wolfanger, officiating. Burial will follow at River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee is assisting the family with all arrangements.
