LUTH, BURKE, COTA, COLSCH

Lansing, Ia. - Funeral services for Peter Luth, 81 were held this week at the Wexford church.

Mr. Luth was born at Columbus, Wis., April 22, 1854. He came to Allamakee county with his parents when a small boy. He was married to Miss Ellen Burke Nov. 27, 1882, at Lansing. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. G.L. Haxmeier.

Mrs. Luth died April 15, 1895. A daughter, Mrs. John Cota, died a few years ago.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Leo Colsch of New Albin, Alfred, Ben and John, all of that vicinity; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Casketbearers were: Will Cota, Martin Conway, Patrick Manning, Cyril Garin, Michael Mullarkey and James Kernan.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Waukon, Ia - Peter Luth, a well known resident of Taylor township died Thursday. He was born in Wisconsin on April 22, 1854, but nearly his entire life was spent on the farm where his death occurred. Three sons and a daughter survive, namely: John, Heitman's Landing; Ben, Taylor township; Albert, Harpers Ferry, and Mrs. Leo Colsch, New Albin.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Wexford Catholic church, the requiem mass being celebrated by the Rev. Daniel O'Sullivan. Burial was in the family lot in the Wexford cemetery.
