Dr. P.M. Letourneau, Waukon's mayor, has been a resident of Waukon for thirty-three years. He has practiced medicine during all of that time and has also devoted much time to public affairs while administering his duties in various offices of trust.

He was born in Bourbonnais, Ill., graduating from the Chicago Medical college in 1881. He practiced twelve years at Chippewa Falls, Wis., and a year or so at Lowden, Ia., before coming to Waukon.

He served as city health officer six years, was president of the County Medical society two years, was a member of the school board at the time the high school building was constructed and in 1924 he was elected mayor of Waukon, which office he has since held and to which he was re-elected recently for another two-year term.

He is a member of the Methodist church where he and his wife and two daughters are faithful members.
