Mrs. William Tindall, another pioneer of Adams County, passed away Sunday morning, August 23rd at 2:30 a.m. at her home on the farm where she resided for 46 years. MRs, Tindall had been failing in health for several months, and on August 15, was removed to the Creston hospital for treatment, and when all efforts for relief failed, she asked to be taken back to her home which she loved and where she was surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Carbon Methodist Church at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Breeling of Grant, Interment was made in the Quincy Cemetery.
Jane Garvey, daughter of Elizabeth and Daniel Gary, was born in Schulkill County, Pennsylvania on the 25th day of May 1848 and died August 23, 1931, being 83 years, 3 months, and 27 days old at the time of her death. While still a child she came with her widowed mother, brothers, and sisters to Illinois, where she grew to womanhood, She was married to William Tindall, August 13, 1866. To this union eleven children were born, four dying in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Florence VanHouten passing away eight years ago. Mr, Tindal died fourteen years ago,
A few years after her marriage, she with her husband and three small children came to Adams County, where they have since made their home on the farm where Mrs. Tindall had lived for 46 years and at the time of her death, with her son, Charles.
Mrs. Tindall is survived by six children, 31 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. The children are, Mr. Sarah Walford, Corning; R. C. Tindall, Tindall, Montana, Mrs. Retta Sage, Corning, Mrs. Jessie Carr, Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, Charles Tindall, Carbon, Mrs. Emma Evans, Oakland, Iowa. Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
