Louis Rimmer, son of Addie and James Rimmer, was born May 25, 1883 in Holt Township, Taylor County, Iowa. He spent his entire life in Taylor and Adams Counties where he had been a successful farmer.
Louis was united in marriage to Rena Bierber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvie Henry Bieber on March 2, 1908. To this union one child was born Neva Velura.
After a short illness, at the age of 69, he passed away at the Rosary Hospital in conning, Sunday morning, February 15, 1953.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Mrs. Russell Vogel, her husband, and two grandchildren, Carol and Virginia; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Alice Hall of Corning and Mrs. Effie Newton of Newell, Iowa; and one brother Ivan Rimmer of Corning. He is also survived by other relatives as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, November 10, 1950 and by his parents at an earlier date.
He was a life long member of the Fairview Church and had served as decor of his church for many years. He has always been a good and dependable neighbor, as well as a loving father and husband and will be missed by all.
Funeral services were held in the Boyd Roland Funeral Home Wednesday, February 18 at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. V. R. Willey. Interment was in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
