Mrs. Addie Rimmer died Friday, December 11, following a long illness. Having been a long time resident of this locality and for the past 15 years in Corning, Mrs. Rimmers passing brought sadness to many. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Fairview Christian Church conducted by Ref. J. W. Johnson. Burial was made in the Prairie Rose Cemetery, beside loved one of other years.
Addie F. Rimmer, eldest daughter of Joseph and Lucinda Foster, was born June 28, 1856 in Charlotte, Iowa and departed this life at the home of her son, Ivan, December 11, 2936, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
She was united in marriage to James R. Rimmer on November 7, 1878. To this union were born 4 children, Mrs. Mary Alice Hall, Louis, and Ivan all of near Corning, and Effie Newton of Newell, Iowa.
May years of her active life were spent on their farm near the Adams and Taylor county line until they retired to Corning 16 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Iveyville until the Fairview Christian Church was organist, she then transferred here as a charter member, which membership she still held at the time of her death. She is survived by har four children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, one brother, J. D. Foster of Grand River Iowa and one sister, Mrs. Alice Mitchell of Corning. Her husband preceded her in death 6 years ago.
She has been a good mother and neighbor and will be greatly missed because of her kind words and cheerful disposition.
