Norma Jean Goldsmith, the daughter of Oakley Milo and Edna Mae (Allison) Boswell, was born December 31, 1932, in Mt. Etna, Iowa. Norma entered eternal rest on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four years, eight months, and eighteen days.

Norma was a life-long resident of Adams County. She was educated in Adams County country schools. She was united in marriage to Richard Dean Goldsmith on July 3, 1954, in Corning, Iowa. Three children: Michael, Kirk, and Jon, were born to bless this union.

Norma was a dedicated homemaker raising her family and taking care of her home. She was a member of the Mt. Etna Methodist Church. Norma had many interests which included dancing, playing “pitch”, spending time with her dogs, and baking. She enjoyed her baking the most when it was done for her grand kids, who were very important to her. Family was always at the center of her life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Norma’s memory are her children: Michael (Bobbie) Goldsmith, Corning, Iowa; Kirk (Lori) Goldsmith, Creston, Iowa; Jon (Angela) Goldsmith, Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Koen and Paden (significant other; Omela Gokool) Goldsmith; Justin and Kaleb (Bailey) Goldsmith; Oakley (significant other; Jacinda Turek) and Colton Goldsmith; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Norma in death were her husband in 2008; parents: three brothers: Cookie (Vernon), Hollis, and Donald Boswell; sister: Opal Parish.
