June 12, 1947, Page 8Relatives and friends in this community will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Jessie Winstone, former Brooks, Iowa, resident, who died in a hospital at Norman, Oklahoma, June 1, 1947. Her home was in Chickasha,Oklahoma. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Winstone was stricken as she was eating breakfast and died a few minutes afterward. She had been in failing health for the past 10 years.
A pioneer resident of Chickasha, Mrs. Winstone was born at Brooks, Iowa, August 31, 1876, moving to Ft. Cobb in 1902. She was the youngest child of John and Mary H. McCreedy. She moved to Chickasha in 1910 and was a member of the Methodist Church.
William J. Winstone, her husband, a retired Rock Island Railroad man, preceded her in death. He died October 11, 1945.
Mrs. Winstone is survived by two sons, Melvin of Chickasha, Lester of Ninnekah and by five daughters, Mrs. Mary Baker and Mrs. Jessie Antinoro of Chickasha, Mrs. Fannie King, Oklahoma City, Mrs. Laura Ridgeway, Redondo Beach, California and Mrs. Lottie Sanford of Chickasha. Other survivors are three brothers, Homer McCreedy of Brooks, Iowa, George McCreedy of Molalla, Oregon and Willard McCreedy of Corning, Iowa; 29 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 3, 1947, at Chickasha, Oklahoma.
