Gwen M. Waggoner, 96, of Lincoln , Nebraska, was born to Dennis H. and Minnie Belle Provost Meyerhoff, June 29, 1900, in Corning, Iowa. She died March 5, 1997, in Lincoln.

She was a 1918 graduate of Corning High Schol, then attended Simpson College and transferred to the Univeristy of Nebraska at Lincoln where she was certified to teach music. She taught until she was married to Fred M. Waggoner, July 10, 1923, at her home in Corning. They lived in Maryville, Missouri, until moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1946.

Mrs. Waggoner was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Lincoln, a 77 year member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, American Legion Auxiliary member 70 years and past president of Post #3, past chapeau Passe of La Petit Salon, Lancaster No. 92 of the Eight et Forty, the Starcraft Chapter No. 307, Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, Disabled American Veteran Commanders Club and Nebraska Legislature Wives Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1986. Services were held March 8, 1997, at Butherus-Maser-Love Chapel. Burial was at the family site in Villisca. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Methodist Church in Lincoln.
