August 24, 1927, Page 7Margaret V. White, daughter of Dennis and Margaret White, was born at Ruraldale, Ohio, February 3, 1852. She with her parents came to Iowa in 1860 and resided near Nodaway for many years. She was the fourth of five daughters who grew to womanhood in this vicinity, all of whom, except Mrs. Eleanor Beatty, have preceded her in death.
Margaret White was married to Alvin Orme in 1876. To this union five children were born, four of whom are living; Lulu, Earl and Everett are now living in Washington and Emmett in Lincoln, Nebraska. The husband and father died 18 years ago. Mrs. Orme, with her husband were among the earlier members of the Nodaway Methodist Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Orme's last illness was occasioned by paralysis, from which she was confined to her bed for a little more than a year. While her afflication was great, yet her suffeing was less keen than is often endured by one having so long an illness.
On August 13, 1927, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 12 days she passed to the great beyond. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. O.R. Jones, pastor of the M.E. Church. Interment was made in the Nodaway Cemetery.
