Obituary

Last week we mentioned the death of Sidney Burton, a former resident of Lincoln township, who passed away at Lingle, Wyo on the 10th of October. The body was brought to this place and the funeral services were held Tuesday of last week at the Lincoln Center church at 11:00 in the morning, conducted by Rev A Boling of Grant. The body was laid to rest in the Lincoln Center cemetery.

Sidney Burton was born in West Pennard, Somersetshire, England October 16, 1854, being 70 at the time of his demise. When about one year old he came with his parents to the eastern part of this state and in 1872 located in Adams County. He went to Wyoming in 1909, and the remainder of his lifetime was spent there. Mr. Burton was married to Mary Emma Frederick March 26, 1877. To this union eleven children were born, of whom five preceded the parents in death. Mrs. Burton died May 16, 1907. Six .children survive their parents. They are Fred Burton, of Carbon; Mabel and Wesley, residing in Page, N. D.; Alice of Palmyra, Nebr; Laura of Oelwein town; and Harold, in Lincoln, Nebr.

March 3, 1919 Mr Burton was married to Mrs. Lillian Cotton, in Lingle, Wyo. and she was with the children. A large circle of friends is left to mourn the loss of Mr Burton.
