Adair County Democrat, October 31, 1901

Judge N.S. Taylor, so well known and loved as Grandpa Taylor, died October 24th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Valentine, of Casey, aged 94 years and 4 months. He was buried in the Casey cemetery on Thursday. The remains of his wife, who died several years ago, were exhumed and taken by Fontanelle friends to Casey where they were laid in the same grave with Grandpa. This was done in obedience to his request and was a fitting tribute to the dear old Grandma who was for over 67 years his true friend and companion. This last scene in the life of Judge Taylor ends the story of two beautiful lives bound together by that sweet tie which death itself cannot break. To think of Judge Taylor is to think of his dear old wife for they were always "two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one." The following friends from our town attended the funeral services: Mr. and Mrs. George Dory, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Carver, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Marquartt, By Dwinelle and daughter, George Rodgers and Frank Hulbert.
