From the Civil War regiments which marched to the sea with Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman, to the Battery D Marines who served in the Persian Gulf War under Gen. H. Norman Schwartzkopf, Cedar Valley residents have been answering the call to duty for 140 years. Click on the image above.

The Courier has produced a softbound collector’s book filled with the memoirs of area veterans and the war efforts of the community.

The soft-bound book, “A Legacy of Honor & Glory,” is primarily a pictorial collection honoring all veterans deceased or living from all wars. Special emphasis will be given to the attack on Pearl Harbor as this year marks the 60th anniversary of the battle.

‘A Legacy of Honor & Glory’ has been produced with a brilliant, glossy full-color cover and protected in its own clear dust cover. As a bonus to the book, an audio CD will be included containing an oral history of local veterans.
