Rev. W. N. Roush

7 February 1945, WATERLOO DAILY COURIER, WATERLOO, IOWA

Rev. W.N. ROUSH is 82 Years Old; Frequently in Pulpit Although He Retired at 70.

A veteran and pioneer of Christian ministry, Rev. W. N. Roush, 2526 Rainbow drive, was celebrating his 82nd birthday, Wednesday.

Early in his professional life he and his wife homesteaded in Nebraska, where Rev. Roush did extensive work in the establishment of United Brethren churches, holding meetings and services in schoohouses in places where no church was available.

He later came to Iowa and served in various pastorates including ones in Gladbrook, Vinton, Lisbon, Moravia, Bristow and Hudson. After serving seven years as pastor of Hudson United Brethren Church, Rev. Roush was granted a retired relation in the conference 12 years ago.

He and his family then moved to a home in Cedar Heights and transferred their membership to Graves Memorial United Brethren church, a West Fourth and Allen streets. Here he has been a member of the board of trustees and has on many occasions supplied the local pulpit and others in this area.

Rev. Roush remained alone in his home in Cedar Heights after the death of his wife two years ago, cooking for himself and caring for the house. He prefers this, although his adopted daughter, Mrs. F. E. Seufferlein resides in Cedar Falls.

He will preach Sunday evening at Graves Memorial church at the union evening services.
