Jeff Kellogg of Shellsburg Dies
Jeff Kellogg

Shellsburg- C. J. (Jeff) Kellogg 87, died Thursday evening in a Cedar Rapids nursing home after an illness of two months. Kellogg was born Oct. 1, 1876 near Shellsburg to Alonzo S. and Huldah Kellogg. On Nov. 1, 1897 he married the former Ida Soden.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Loyal Nelson of Palo; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A retired carpenter and a decorator, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the Christan Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Grace Trinity Church with Rev Milan Lambertson officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

Rhoda Moir Kellogg

Rhoda Moir Kellogg, 89, of Statesboro, Ga., and formerly of the Vinton and Shellsburg areas, died Feb. 20, at a nursing home in Statesboro.

Survivors include two sons, Virgil of Des Moines and Burton of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Beverley Freeman of McGregor, Minn; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips'.

The body has been cremated. Burial; Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg...
