Bridget Agnes Gardiner was born in Buffalo, N.Y., February 22, 1845, and departed this life December 25, 1923, at the home of her son, Bert Gardiner, Gresham, Nebraska, aged 78 years 10 months and three days.

On July 5, 1865 she was united in marriage to John H. Gardiner at Independence, near which place they made their home for a number of years. To this union were born six children, two of whom, a son and a daughter proceeded her to the beyond.

Prior to her marriage she was a teacher in the public schools in and near Vinton, Iowa. In 1876 they moved to Lincoln, Nebr., and in the spring of 1877 they moved to Stockton, Kansas, and in 1893 came back to Seward County, residing on a farm near Seward until 1917, when they moved to Utica which has since been her home.

She was always cheerful and kind and leaves a large circle of friends and will be greatly missed in the homes of those who are left to mourn her loss. The immediate relatives left to mourn her departure are: Her husband John Gardiner; the children Mrs. Richard Conway, Seward; Wm and Bert Gardiner, Gresham; Geo. Gardiner, David City.
