HISTORICAL SKETCH, VAN HORNE M. E. CHURCH
The Methodist Episcopal Church in Van Horne was organized Aug. 19, 1882, by Uriah Eberhart, with the following persons composing the organization: E. D. Losey and wife, Mrs. Mary Porter, J. A. Rouse and wife, Jacob Stockslager, wife and daughter, Carrie E. and Mrs. A. E. Wittie. The society has been served by the pastors at Blairstown, and has enjoyed a considerable degree of prosperity. Removals have reduced the number, however, so that not one-third of those who have been members of this church in its short history are now living within the bounds of the charge. The society have no church property, and hold their services at present in the Evangelical Church. The following is the list of official members: BOARD OF TRUSTEES: G. E. Davis, Charles Hartung, W.
