Portrait and Biographical Album of Benton County, Iowa
Chicago: Chapman Brothers, 1887

MILO E. WHIPPLE, an industrious and energetic young farmer and stock-raiser of Taylor Township, is pleasantly located on a fine homestead on section 18, and carrying on his business in a creditable and successful manner. He is the son of Cyrenius T. and Nancy (Cline) Whipple, and was born Sept. 16, 1858. (A sketch of his father appears on another page of this work.) Milo remained at home until twenty-three years of age, when, on the 20th day of September, 1881, he was united in marriage with Lottie L., daughter of John W. and Lottie K. (Davis) Barr, and then started in life for himself. Just previous to his marriage he had purchased 120 acres of land on sections 7 and 18, where he now resides. He has since added forty acres to his purchase, making a fine farm of 160 acres. Mr. and Mrs. Whipple are the parents of two children — Hiram Dudley, born July 10, 1883, and Maude, born Sept. 6, 1885. Mr. Whipple is a young and enterprising man, and has the prospect of a bright future before him. He has a pleasant home surrounded by the comforts of life, and is held in high esteem by his neighbors and acquaintances.
