CIVIC SOCIETIES.

EXODUS LODGE, No. 342, A. F. & A. M.--This society held its first meeting (under dispensation) August 24, 1864. There was a charter membership of 15. Number of members at present, 34. The society is in excellent condition in every respect.

KNIGHTS OF PYTHIAS, EXIRA LODGE No. 181.--This lodge was instituted in September, 1887, with 19 charter members. The membership now numbers about 70. It is the strongest secret society in Exira, and is "well heeled" financially, owning a good building, the lodge occupies the upper room exclusively, the lower room is known as the K. of P. Opera House, and has a seating capacity of nearly 400.

ANCIENT ORDER OF UNITED WORKMEN.--This lodge was instituted at Exira, June 28, 1884, with 15 charter members. The present membership is about 35. The order is in a prosperous condition.

WOMAN'S RELIEF CORPS.--About two years ago this corps was instituted and today has a large membership of enterprising and charitable ladies.
