~Postville Herald, Thursday, November 29, 1934, Postville, Iowa, page 7

Our third month of school closed Friday, November 16, Lora Hamann, Regina Mitchell, Lillian Mitchell and Leatrice Bollman were neither absent nor tardy in the third month. Lora, Regina and Lillian have perfect records for the year.

Our beginner, Helena Mitchell, has completed the primary course of study and is ready to start work on her chart.

Frederick Burckhart, the first grade pupil has completed three primers and started to read in the first reader.

Clifford Nelson and Leo Bollman have completed the first five history problems and are working on the sixth.

Russell, Albert and Wayne Sweat of the third grade have studied about milk, corn, wheat, fruit and vegetables in geography. They have made some very interesting booklets in connection with their study.

We have organized Good Citizenship Club in our school. Lora Hamann was elected president.

The visitors during our first three months were: Anna Burckhart, Arlene O'Brien, Shirley Mae Funk, Florence Hamann, Milton Hamann, Maxine Fuller and Virginia Martin.

Clifford Nelson and Russell Allert have returned their signed dental cards and are on our dental honor roll.

School Notes - Franklin No. 10
~Postville Herald, Thursday, November 5, 1936; page 7

Howdy Folks! This seems to be our first appearance on the printed page. We will start off by telling you we have seven pupils enrolled in our school.

Last Monday we enjoyed a marshmallow and weiner roast on our school lawn. This was to be our Halloween celebration.

Frederick Burckart received two perfect attendance certificates and William Bacon received one thus far this year. We expect to have more next month.

Last Friday we finished our covers for our bird booklets. We are going to put a different bird in each Friday. Below each picture we will write a small account of it.

As our time and space are just about up, we will sign off until next time.

Marguerite Schindhelm, teacher
